As restrictions for COVID-19 are starting to lift in the state or Massachusetts, our department is staying up to date with the latest guidelines set forth by the CDC. Firefighter Paramedics will continue to wear face coverings on all calls for service, so if you see us with added protective gear please understand that we are trying to minimize any possible exposures for everyone. Patients being transported by our Ambulance will be asked to wear a face covering or be provided one as face coverings are still required in Healthcare Facilities.

The Hanson Fire Dept over the last couple years has purchased advanced disinfecting equipment used daily to disinfect our vehicles and station. These tools, paired with proper PPE and safety protocols ensure that Hanson Firefighters have stayed healthy and response ready through the COVID-19 pandemic.

We have been working with the Regional Old Colony Communications Center to adjust dispatcher questioning in regards to flu-like symptoms when people call 911. These additional steps help us to take protective measures, and through CDC, state and local guidelines respond appropriately to your emergency.
